The Road Less Travelled:Waynad

It was almost like a dream came true for me. Me travelling my first trip to waynad to merge in its beauty. I have only heard of its beauty.. But it was time for me to witness it. I planned to cover three spots and planned to return in the evening.

I headed from home in the morning as early as possible, so that i could cover all the spots. I usually travel by local transport buses. I caught a bus from Kozhikode which is my home town to vytiri.

 My spots were:

  • Waynad churam view point
  • Soochippara waterfalls
  • Kuruva dweep

I reached waynad churam almost at 9:00 am. I spent some time there taking some pics and enjoying the beauty. Without wasting much time i headed from the view point to soochippara waterfalls which is almost 40 km away..

I used private bus as a means. I had to pay the entry fees of rs100 there for the waterfalls. Since that was not a rainy season, soochippara was not at its best. But it was good spot to see something majestic and merge in the beauty.

I had my lunch from one of the hotels from there. After taking some rest i went for kuruva dweep which is like a small island that allows you to enjoy absolute beauty of the nature. It would  be closed by 5:00pm.so i had to rush. With God’s grace i reached there within time.

I need to take ticket from there and people would take me to the island in a small boat. We can completly enjoy our time with mother nature..It is a must visit spot in waynad for all nature lovers.

I still cherish the memories of my first trip to waynad, which transformed me to be a traveller and later a backpacker….
